Located at Liberty Landing Marina in Jersey City, our school gives students direct access to one of the most iconic sailing environments in the world — New York Harbor. With breathtaking skyline views, steady harbor winds, and convenient access from Manhattan, True North offers a sailing experience unlike anywhere else in the Tri-State area.
For many of our students, stepping aboard at True North is their first introduction to sailing. Others arrive with years of experience and are looking to sharpen their skills, earn certifications, or become part of an active sailing community. No matter where you’re starting from, our mission is the same: to help you become a confident sailor while enjoying every moment on the water.
Our experienced instructors are certified by the American Sailing Association and the U.S. Coast Guard, combining professional instruction with a supportive and hands-on teaching style. We believe the best way to learn is by actively sailing, which is why our courses emphasize real experience at the helm in small-group settings.
